Mental Health

My specialist areas are recurrent anxiety, depression, relationship problems, abuse, self-harm, past and recent trauma, and self-esteem.

My clients come to me because they are struggling with daily intense anxious feelings or fears, which are often accompanied by physical symptoms like restlessness, difficulties in concentration, experiencing nausea, stomach upset, rapid heartbeat and breathing problems.

Some of my clients experience depressive symptoms such as being unusually sad or having irritable mood that doesn’t go away, a lack of energy, persistent tiredness and intense guilt feelings. These can result in feeling worthless, thinking about death and wishing to be dead.

Having these difficult feelings and thoughts can result in relationship problems which then reinforce the ongoing cycle of darkness, being stuck and engaging in destructive behaviours either towards themselves or others. Often my clients have tried other approaches, but found little or no relief.

Attending a course of psychoanalytic psychotherapy make my clients feel empowered, being in control of their actions as well as a reduction of their psychological issues. My clients have learned strategies to manage stressful life events, resulting in feeling content and enjoying life again. They also have the ability to recover effectively from illness, change or misfortune.

You can read what some of my clients have said on my Testimonials page.

Emotional Wellbeing

Emotional wellbeing is vital for our mental health and bringing mind and body together.

There are many ways to improve your emotional wellbeing and to address minor anxiety and depressive symptoms.

I utilise Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupressure, Aromatherapy and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) to support my clients’ emotional wellbeing.

It is important to boost your self-confidence and raise your self-esteem; by doing so, you increase your self-worth.

There is evidence to suggest that paying attention to the here and now is beneficial for emotional wellbeing. This is described as ‘Mindfulness’ and works on your thoughts, feelings, your body, and the important things in your life.

Being mindful results in enjoying life as well as understanding yourself better.

Practising mindfulness regularly can help rewire our brains to respond to things in a healthier way and thus change the way we view and manage the problems life can throw at us.

Positive outcomes for clients attending my emotional wellbeing sessions include:

  • feeling more confident;
  • becoming more self-aware;
  • managing emotions and building emotional intelligence;
  • learning about stress and how to address it healthily.
